2024-2029 Strategic Plan

2024-2029 Strategic Plan

The Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC) 2024–2029 Strategic Plan provides a roadmap for advancing the genetic counselling profession in Canada. Developed through extensive engagement with members and stakeholders, the plan reflects the evolving needs of the profession and the communities genetic counsellors serve.

Guided by its mission to strengthen the genetic counselling profession in Canada through education, community, support, and leadership, the Strategic Plan focuses on three priorities:

  • Genetic Counsellors as a Trusted Voice – advancing awareness, recognition, and advocacy for the profession.
  • Organizational Strength and Sustainability – building a resilient, effective, and forward-thinking association.
  • Thriving Membership – fostering an engaged, inclusive, and supported community of genetic counsellors at every stage of their careers.

Diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice are embedded throughout the Strategic Plan, ensuring these principles inform all aspects of CAGC's work. Together, these priorities position the Association to strengthen the profession and enhance access to high-quality genetic counselling across Canada.”
