Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors Platform Infrastructure & Data Residency

The Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC) is a national healthcare association representing genetic counsellors and supporting the advancement of genetics-informed care in Canada. Genetic counsellors help individuals and families understand genetic information and its potential implications for their health, while working alongside other healthcare professionals as part of the broader care system. CAGC promotes high standards of practice, professional development, knowledge sharing, and public awareness of genetic counselling. CAGC uses Members Village as its association management software with Canadian data residency to support member information and association activities. The information below provides a general overview of the platform’s infrastructure, data hosting, privacy-supporting features, and security practices. It does not replace CAGC’s own privacy policies, terms, program requirements, payment terms, or other notices that may apply to memberships, education, events, communications, services, or transactions.

Core Infrastructure

Infrastructure operations adhere to the following protocols:

  1. Data Residency:
Primary databases, container clusters, and automated snapshots reside exclusively in Canadian data centers (Toronto, ON).
  2. Network & Storage Encryption:
Enforced HTTPS (TLS 1.3/1.2) in transit; AES-256 data encryption at rest.
  3. Access Controls:
Zero-trust architecture with MFA and SSH key authentication restricted to authorized system engineers.

Third-Party Integrations: Where Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors enables specialized external tools (e.g. embedded video streaming), data processed by those specific tools is subject to their agreements.
