Funding
Successful applicants may receive:
- Up to $6,500 over two years in research funding
- Up to $500 to support in-person attendance at the CAGC Annual Education Conference (AEC) to present research findings at the end of the two-year grant term
Who Can Apply
Any full member of the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors in good standing is eligible to apply. We welcome applications across a broad range of topics that could produce meaningful findings for genetic counselling, including models of care, patient and provider preferences, equity-based research, and the evolving landscape of genetic counselling services.
We acknowledge that marginalized communities must be centered in our work to address the discrimination that members of these communities have experienced. Genetic counsellors who are members of and experts from these communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Grant Term
Funded projects run for two years, beginning July 1 of the year in which the application is submitted. Requests for renewals or extensions will be evaluated alongside other proposals in the year of reapplication.
