Advocacy
CAGC members may join committees and contribute to projects that help promote and strengthen the genetic counselling profession in Canada.
Full members have voting rights on important matters brought forward at the Annual General Meeting.
CAGC representatives also contribute to clinical practice guideline discussions with organizations such as the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.

Members can also use the online membership directory, which provides contact information for CAGC members in Canada and around the world.
CAGC Communities of Practice offer smaller, focused groups for members who share an interest in a particular area of genetic counselling practice.

This includes key journal and review articles organized by area of practice, as well as access to the CAGC Genetics Knowledge Dissemination Speaker’s Bursary, which supports genetic counsellors presenting at non-genetics conferences.

CAGC members receive direct email notifications about job postings relevant to the genetic counselling profession.
Members also have access to the Professional Status Survey, which includes information about genetic counsellor salaries, benefits, and other aspects of the work environment.
